Nutmeg's Mix

Nutmeg’s Mix is a show about whatever Nutmeg feels like saying or playing. Nutmeg rambles alot and plays mostly independent/local music, and also some mainstream music too. Originally, the show was about the listener, and the many talents that you may have out there. She wants to feature musicians, poets, cosplay, visual artists, video gamers, sports, film makers, comedians – hobbies and talents of all types. Every show is a sort of an open-mic night, and there was supposed to be a discussion on a specific issue each show. Nutmeg still would like to run her show this way, however since there's not a whole lot of audience participation, what's a gal to do? Nutmeg understands you do have better things to do on a Friday night than listen to Internet Radio, and it's all good :) In the future, she would like to do live interviews with bands and other folks Nutmeg knows who are very talented individuals. If you are interested in being a special guest on the show in the future, where we'd have an entire show dedicated you, or you have a topic you want to talk about, or you have any requests, please send her an email at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com or call in whenever live on air at 347-633-9372.

Show Notes

ABOUT ME: I'm a full-time office/desk jockey by day and an internet junkie by night. I have been married 4 years and have a daughter who is 4. I also host an internet radio show every Friday at 10:30PM EST where I talk about random topics and plug the sh*t out of everyone's original work or small business, and play many local/independent artists' music, (not necessarily local to my area, but all areas). No matter how small they may seem, I believe that everyone should follow their dreams, whether they get actual recognition or not, because recognition does not equate to accomplishment. My show gives people a platform if they choose to call in and talk about what they do that makes them special. I also have been writing since childhood and finally compiled my poetry & short stories into a book, titled "Maddening The Silence." Samples from the book to be posted soon in blogs. For your free copy, please email me at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com.

Samples from my book, "Maddening The Silence" by Megan Schwartz

In order to just get my writing out there, I did some editing and a simple cover for my book, "Maddening The Silence". It is a book of poetry, short stories, and an interview. It is my dream to someday be a published writer. Even if I don't make any money from it.

I found a great place online to get quality cheap copies made & bound & they turned out great. The first 20 people to email me at schwartzmeg@yahoo.com  requesting a copy and providing me with their mailing address, will get a copy totally free. Eventually I will have something set up on paypal for people to purchase a copy of my collective work, to cover printing and mailing costs, and perhaps to make a small $2 profit from each copy sold, so I can afford to pay the Graphic Designer who created a couple of awesome book covers for the project, and also to pay for a real publisher. So perhaps a total cost of $10.00 or something like that. Below are some sample poems from the book. Thanks in advance for your support! Feel free to leave comments below. Criticism is welcome, but please keep it constructive and not too negative.

    “22”

    The black outweighs the white
    Always wrong and never right
Out of mind is out of sight
    Worst of fears
    now come to light
    Burst of tears
    try hard to fight.

    Too little too late
    Lonely hearts can never wait
to settle for a fraudulent fate
    Cast the line
    and take the bait
    Pass the time
    Don’t hesitate.

    You conform by not conforming.
    Not exciting – ornately boring
    Not enticing – innately annoying
    Enough’s enough -
    Nothing alluring
    Time is up
    Go on ignoring.

    Time to go exploring.

    “Holding Back the Tears”

    Insanity pollutes the soul,
    Deviance intoxicates the mind.
    Give me a kiss,
    Time’s not on my side.
    Energy’s running low,
    Keep me close to your heart;
The arrow’s in place with the bow
    From you,
    Hate to be apart.
    Lover so passionate,
    Lover so sweet;
    Secrets and desires shared,
For you my love is deep –
    Fate has had us paired.
    Insanity pollutes the soul
    Impurities deteriorate conscience.
    Dreaming to hug you:
    Please maintain patience.
    Mine . . .
    And yours.
    What’s going to happen?
    Only time will tell.
    To open which doors?
    Insanity pollutes the soul,
    Yet love poisons the heart
We need each other to be completely whole –
    Reload that deadly, pestilent dart.

    “Giving into Want”

    The kiss of life
    The kiss of death
    Is the kiss of passion
    But the kiss of regret.
    Giving into desire
    Isn’t always wise
It can lead one to admire
    Or another to despise.
    Confusion devours me
    Like a suffocation quilt
Is this love that we share
    Or lust,
    Ready to wilt?
    Like a dead flower?
    No
    I have the power
    To end this potential pain
    Before I go insane . . .
    Again.

    “Make Something of It”

    You open up and begin the book;
It starts out ever so sweet.
But when you reach the sh*tty roads,
    You turn away to retreat.
    Feeling defeated.
You don’t like what you see?
    So what?
Things aren’t always what they seem to be.
    But you can try to change it;
    If not, then, rearrange it
    Until it makes some sense.
    Relax and take a rest.
If you need to, make a p*ss stop
But whatever you do, don’t give up.
    Life sucks. Oh well.
    Sing me a new tune,
    Or go to hell.
Go do what you gotta do.
Just remember not to step in dog poo!
The ball is carelessly tossed like it’s some kind of game.
Up and down. . . Up and down. . . what a shame.
The swing goes faster and faster and faster.
Keep in mind that the past is not your master.
    “Sh*t Happens,” but life continues on;
You might feel a weakness, but you’ve gotta be strong.
So live everyday like it might be your last,
Because time flies by oh – so – fast.

    Nutmeg's Mix

Nutmeg was still feeling sick. She went through her plugs, played some songs, and yammered on about random things, like why the cops were outside her house on the street for no apparent reason, how she hates liars, how the Twilight series is so damn corny and how Nutmeg doesn't get the hype, and how she appreciates her husband very much. Nutmeg also babbled about her book and how she has 4 copies left, and will more than likely be extending the offer to more than just the first 10 copies being free- after all it's about sharing her work with the world. Nutmeg ended the program 45 minutes ahead of schedule. Playlist: -SDoun-"Last Word" -Michael Jackson-"This Is It" -Americans in a Basement-"They Said There Would Be Cake" -AC/DC-"Highway to Hell" -Metallica-"Nothing Else Matters". No Callers or chatters.

Nutmeg only did the show for 32 minutes then called it a night. Songs played: -Ozzy Osbourne-"Crazy Train" -The Cobbs-"Say You Never Knew Me" - Yex-"Bolo Yeung Takes Center Stage"

    Nutmeg's Mix

Nutmeg started the show about 6 minutes late. She tried rescheduling it for half-hr later, but BTR would not allow it. Instead of starting off with her plugs, Nutmeg mixed it up and played a couple of songs first. She talked about random little things as usual in between songs. Nutmeg also announced that the copies of her book, "Maddening the Silence", turned out great thanks to moxicopy.com, and will mail you a free copy if you email her with your address. Nutmeg ended the program early by about 25 minutes, as she had to take care of some stuff. Playlist: -Unknown Hinson–"I Cleaned Out A Room (in my trailer for you)" -Fursley Adams–"Homeless in Brooklyn (in the morning)" -Jimi Hendrix–"Manic Depression" -The Young Werewolves–"Evil Soul" -Soraia–"Not The Woman" -Twitch The Ripper–"The Unknown" -Drop Anchor–"Time (Underwater)" -Kenneth R–"Incommunicado" -Tronicity–"100 Different Reasons" -Hector Lavoe–"Loco" -Marilyn Manson–"The Reflecting God" -Pink Floyd–"Brain Damage"; Online BTR chatroom:Kenneth R from "The Kenneth R Discussion Program", Nami NekoSama from "The Retarded Genius Show"

    Wacky Wednesday

Nutmeg ran through her pluglist, and played some tunes. Nutmeg wasn't paying too much attention to the switchboard, but believes that the guys from The JumpButton show may have tried to call in, but Nutmeg missed it-the switchboard flickered in the caller area, from what Nutmeg could tell from the corner of her eye. Then again, who knows. Nutmeg also announced that the copies of her book she ordered only the other day are being delivered this Friday, and also announced that she will share more details about it once she sees how they turned out. Later, Mrs. PG from inthabuildin called in to show Nutmeg some love. Music Selection: -Disturbed–"Perfect Insanity" -J Will–"I Do It For You" -Mrs. PG–"Grill Done" -The Rolling Stones-"Angie"; Caller: Mrs.PG from "inthabuildin,"& the"Side Bar"&"Milwaukee Music"&"The PGS" shows; Online BTR chatroom: Allen B, Guest 7213, Mrs. PG

    Nutmeg's Mix & JumpButton SUPERSHOW!

Nutmeg, her husband,Mr.CockButton, and the cast of The JumpButton Show, co-hosted each other's shows as a simultaneous broadcast of both programs! Two shows, same time, same studio-and plenty of beer! Apparent though BTR doesn't allow two accounts to be logged on from the same computer, so Nutmeg signed off on the main studio pc and logged on upstairs. She didn't go through her list of plugs;instead she allowed her co-hosts to run the show. Nutmeg was constantly telling Mr. Cock Button to keep his mouth shut,as he was saying extremely inappropiate things,as usual. Lady Stampede of the JumpButton show asked "Who invited this guy?",only for Mr. CockButton to come back with"It's my g*dammned house!" All that was said was in good fun and jest, no harm intended. A Button & B Button mentioned how Steven Tyler is leaving Aerosmith for a "solo" career. Nutmeg asked "What's the point?" Mr. Cock Button asked the JumpButton crew what the worst sports video game is ever, and they responded with the entire Madden series. Nutmeg deep-throated her beer bottle. B Button & A Button made fun of Scott Stapp of Creed by mockingly singing like him-it was pretty hilarious! Throughout the program, Nutmeg belched and corrected Mr. Cock Button and his filthy mouth. Towards the end, Nutmeg was getting tired and ready to quit, but B Button insisted that she go on. However, JumpButton lost their on-air status, as Nutmeg & B Button couldn't figure out Lady Stampede's phone. Playlist: -Eddie Murphy&Rick James–"Party All The Time" -Psychostick–"Beer!!!!" -The Decemberists–"O Valencia!" -Aerosmith–"Crazy" -Dave Chapelle– "Tupac Song" -Eric Cartman–"Poker Face"(Lady Gaga cover) -Daughtry–"Poker Face"(Lady Gaga cover) -Yex–"Bolo Yeung Takes Center Stage" -NAS & Nick Cannon–"Eat That Watermelon" -Davy Knowles&Jonatha Brooke–"Taste of Danger" -Kenneth R– "Last-Ditch Friend" -Rick Astley–"Never Gonna Give You Up"

    Nutmeg's Mix

Nutmeg didn't have any topics in her purple pimpin' party hat this week, as yet again she was unprepared for her show. She talked about random things in between playing music - like how she had a crazy week this week dealing with looney people, how she really appreciates her husband and daughter, how she hopes the SEPTA strike will end soon, the cold weather, and other random things that came to mind. Nutmeg is going to work on trying to actually have a show and playlist planned out ahead of showtime before going on air, as she is tired of going "hmm, what should I play next?" Nutmeg also announced that the SUPERSHOW scheduled on Tuesday 11-10 with the JumpButton show is still up in the air, as the next day is Nutmeg's Grandmother's 90th Birthday, and as of now she is in the hospital. Playlist: Patsy Cline–"Crazy" -Upon Creation–"Eden’s Ashes" -Ricky Martin-"Pégate" -Birmingham Six–"His Favorite Spot" -Unknown Hinson-"Lingerie" -Pamela Mering–"Mr. Candlelight" -SDoun–"Last Word" - Metallica–"Nothing Else Matters"(Live at Live Earth concert from London 7-7-07) -The Rolling Stones–"Angie" -Epic Failure –"Advantage" -Yex –"Bolo Yeung Takes Center Stage" -Michael Jackson –"You Rock My World" -Soraia–"On The Horizon" -The Doors–"People Are Strange"; Online BTR chatroom: gabbygryphon, Michael Long from the "Journey Into The Light" show
