Spiritual Discernment

I Corinthians 12: 10 - "To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits..."

One of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit is discerning of spirits.
Why would be given the gift to discern spirits if we had no need to encounter them?
It is wonderful that God in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to bless us with this gift.

God pours out the Holy Spirit to us. He never intended for us to be left all alone in the world in darkness. The Holy Spirit is our light in the darkness.

Acts 2: 17 - "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams"

Luke 12: 2 (2-3) - "For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known."
