The MOVE 9 are innocent men and women commited to earth liberation, animal liberation and black liberation who have been in prison since August 8, 1978, following a massive police attack on them at their home in Philadelphia. This was seven years before the government dropped a bomb from a helicopter on MOVE, killing 11 people, including 5 babies and, by authorities refusing to extinguish the resultant fire, destroying approximately 65 nearby houses.

The May 2016 parole hearings for Janet, Janine, and Debbie Africa are quickly approaching and we have to continue to keep the pressure on this system and it's officials over the issue of Parole For The Move 9. People from all over the world have been flooding the phone and fax lines and emails of the office of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and made the issue clear that they want parole granted for the women this May. We are asking people to continue to call the governor's office for the rest of April and continue to demand parole for Janet, Janine, and Debbie this May. The women have been up for parole and denied several times already. Lets help make it the last time and get them released!
MOVE is a Philadelphia-based black liberation group founded in the 1970's. Their group faced severe repression by the state, including nine members of their group separately being convicted for a single death that occurred during a standoff with police in 1978. In 1985 the Philadelphia police department responded in another standoff by dropping a bomb on the house the group lived in--eleven people, both adult members of MOVE and their children, as well as a number of companion animals, died in the explosion.
