The business of broadcasting with our special guest Jerry Pippin, a man who has been doing broadcasting as a talent, producer, owner of radio stations and advertising sales for five decades. Pippin was an early pioneer in Internet Broadcasting and feels it is the future for the medium. he pioneered listen on demand even before the podcast and the ipod and still practicing radio programing with mass appeal subjects. In this program they discuss the huge losses of major broadcast stations and networks, the demise of the daily newspaper and the ramifications of the brave new world of digital media. Pippin points the finger at major causes of the demise of local radio including the fading away of the local advertising base when chain stores replaced local ownership, the efforts of broadcasters to "fine tune" their product which resulted in the unintended consequences of the loss of the personality which he feels is the secret of radio 's history. Is there hope, there seems to be a difference of opinion not only in this show between the host and Pippin but also with broadcast and media experts worldwide.
