The holidays can stir a lot of emotion in families. All families have different traditions and dynamics but for many it means, getting together for big social gatherings with people who you love but may not see too often. It can be a busy time full of parties, eating big meals, staying up late, travelling or hosting and for people who stutter, answering lots of questions! For PWS, anticipating this can cause some anxiety. You know they mostly mean well, “How is school?” “Do you have a boyfriend?” “What are your plans for college/high school/sports?” It almost feels like your aunts, uncles, cousins are interviewing you. It is often a difficult time to comfortably talk.

How can parents help their kids who stutter to enjoy the holiday season?
