Sonia Nadina Haynes is excited to interview, Sanford Osler, author of Canoe Crossings: Understanding the Craft that helped Shape British Columbia a newly released book by Heritage House.

Sanford Osler was introduced to the canoe as a youngster at summer camp, an event that sparked a lifelong interest in the role of the canoe in our history and modern-day lives. This fascination led him to collect information on the subject over many years, meet many of the colourful characters involved with canoes and give talks about these craft to audiences across British Columbia.

The book traces the evolution of the various types of canoes (broadly defined to include kayaks and dragon boats) found in BC from their first appearance here to the present, and looks at the impact they have had on the province and its people.
