NWP welcomes the soulful blues guitarist Rafael Tranquilino.  Rafael left his home in Mexico City in 2006 to follow his dream.  As a young 5 year old musician, Rafael listened to the blues. He watched his father, also an accomplished musician, weep while playing his guitar.  Rafeal understood ones soul connection to the universe through music, even at a young age.  Patterning himself after his heros, BB King and Carlos Santana, Rafael dreamed of taking his guitar and his ambition to the United States in search of Delta Blues.

Fast forward 6 years and today Rafael is know as one of the hottest young guitar slingers in the Pacific Northwest and his band was names "Best Blues Band 2012" by Tacoma Weekly.

Touring around the country with some of the best soul and blues artists in the country, Rafael tells young musicians, hard work does payoff but you must keep trying, follow your true passion and play, even if its just you in the room.

In the second half of the show, Letters from Traffic.  LFT is one of the Top 10 Alternative Bands in the Northwest. Playing music that "moves the staff" is the goal of these hard working but highly talented musicians. Joined by Scott and Brad, they tell me, if they can move the staff at the venue, people who hear music every night at work, they know they have performed well. Big dreams but matched with big talent.  Letters from Traffic just might be the name you hear next that was discovered in Seattle
