Pioneering New Frontiers in Assistive Technology

Gayl and Penny Reed are long time pioneers in the implementation of assistive technology in education. Gayl was the founder and developer of the Oregon Technology Access Project. Penny worked with WATI and developed materials for WATI, Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative. Both have been involved with NATRI, National Assistive Technology Research Institute, and have co-written the well-used and respected manual Education Tech Points: A Framework for Assistive Technology Planning that can be found on their website, Education Tech Points.
Join Gayl and Penny as they discuss their spin on new initiatives in training educators, parents, therapists and AT specialists in what AT services and implementation can and should look like as we integrate into general education initiatives such as Response to Intervention, Universal Design for Learning, and No Child Left Behind.
Gayl and Penny will be sharing fresh material out of their latest workshops and trainings to help all of us look at how AT and education trends are shifting and changing to meet the demands of education today.
Whether you are a parent, an educator or a specialist, you won't want to miss this important topic that effects all of education.
Listen and call in, July 3, 11 a.m. Pacific time, or tune into the archive after the show.
