On the last of an afternoon, I can feel the tick-tock tell me closer to my final place, my resting space- nearer to my Hunter's moon. And what will graven marble claim as sum or total of my time- a king's largess, a seer's duress? No, likely just a single name Were you there at Dawn when they loosed the chains and sent all I loved away... Yet, Bondage still for me even after we were free, as they could not redeem their darkest fears. So, I remained hunted, shunted to the side, a mutt for sport, a stray... And betimes, a beaten cur will snap and nip tormentors; And so, further vilified am I as the twilight nears. On the edge of an endless night, I can hear the dong-gong toll me closer to your senseless hate, my lasting fate- nearer to my final room. And as they strap me to the chair, do you think it foul or fair- a self's defense, a last offense- or rather, just a nation's shame? So let my epitaph be . . .ENDANGERED
