At age 13, Anthony Ross ended up homeless in Washington, DC after escaping his mother from murdering him due to her drug use. Because no other family members would take care of him, he had no choice but to turn to the streets for housing. While living in a homeless shelter, Anthony taught himself algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and other advanced math from watching YouTube videos after earning his GED to pass the SAT's. After getting accepted into Saint Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC and leaving the shelter behind in 2009, Anthony was able to earn a 4.0 GPA his freshmen year, become elected Student Body President his junior year, and graduate Magna Cum Laude in 2013.
