Picture Talk

My name's Dr Nina Lübbren. I'm an art historian and senior lecturer in film studies at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England. On this page, you can find my podcasts on how to write a university essay. You will learn to construct an argument and research your topic. My talks use film and art as examples but are relevant for students in all of the arts and humanities). Later on, I may record shows on how to talk about pictures, about how pictures talk, and about how people talk about pictures. Pictures include; paintings, moving pictures (films), images today. Talk includes: what we say, what we read, and what we write. Enjoy the podcasts! If you do, let me know via feedback: thanks! :-)

Comments on 'How to write an essay: Introduction and Conclusion'

Hello.  If you listened to the programme 'How to Write an Essay 2:  Introduction and  Conclusion', you may be interested in the spellings and details of the examples mentioned.

The films mentioned are:  Casablanca, dir. Michael Curtiz (1942) USA, and Dil Se, dir. Mani Ratnam (1998) India.

(This is not the correct way to format this in your essay but the blog box won't allow me to use italics etc.)

They're great films, by the way, and well worth seeing...!
