Aaron Cole Martin knows more about life’s challenges than most of us. A former heroin addict, he got himself clean and sober and became an addiction counselor in order to help others who were going through the same hell he had personally survived and overcame. When I first met Aaron, it was clear he wanted more from life and was prepared to put in the time and effort to achieve his goals. And now he’s on the way. In May he joined the Army National Guard and shortly will be heading to Fort Benning in Georgia for his basic training. In two years Aaron plans to enroll in the police academy to fulfill his goal of becoming a police officer. And then there is his music. Aaron is a talented musician and has some very exciting aspirations in the area, but you’ll have to listen to the interview to find out the details. I don’t want to ruin his surprise. Life is filled with choices and consequences – and no one beats the consequences. These days Aaron is making the right choices, and this inspirational young man is living proof that humans are resilient and capable of turning lemons into lemonade.
