We first met author Nanci A. Smith three years ago after she published her first book, When My Heart Speaks: A Journey of Life Through Poetry, Short Stories, and Quotes.  In that book, Nanci shared her intimate thoughts on her own story of heartbreak, fear, loss, yet also of faith, freedom, friendship and love. In the beginning of that interview, I said I had a feeling more books would be forthcoming, and that prophecy has come true with Nanci’s second book, Waking Up, due to launch in March. And this time she’s using her pen name Anne Dennish. Waking Up is a personal look at one woman's journey throughout life and dealing with the realities of breast cancer. The author shares intimate stories of divorce, relationships, children, addiction and more, as well as the private journal of her battle with breast cancer. This book has something for everyone. Waking Up will tell you how this one woman learned to handle life with grace, dignity, love, and laughter. Anne Dennish (aka Nanci Smith) lives at the Jersey Shore with her life partner and two of her five children. She is a single mom, writer, journalist for Wall Stadium Speedway, and a breast cancer survivor who mentors other women battling this disease. The author’s hope is to touch others through her writing, sharing the most intimate and personal details of her life. Smith/Dennish says, "I can accept whatever life hands me, as long as I learn something from it and can do something positive with it for someone else. Life is a journey, and we're all in this together." After the interview, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.
