Where is the best opportunity to see great films, meet celebrities and film industry professionals, and mingle with hundreds of like-minded movie lovers? The answer is the 11th annual Garden State Film Festival which comes to Asbury Park April 4-7. The film festival offers several days worth of independent films from all over the world that you can’t see anywhere else except at a film festival. They are produced by filmmakers that are passionate about their art and not necessarily for any commercial gain. Filmmakers typically do a Q& A after the screening of their film, so audience members get a priceless opportunity to ask them questions. In addition to the screenings, there are youth workshops, professional panel discussions, and an open talent casting call. Maybe you’ll be discovered! This year award-winning actress Diane Ladd will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Honorary Chairman is Thomas Hayes, Director of Customer and Community Relations for New Jersey Natural Gas Company. The 2013 Robert Pastorelli Rising Star Award goes to Jersey boy Jay Seals, fromHasbrouck Heights.
