Feng shui is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago in China. It is used to balance the energies of any given space to assure the health and good fortune for people inhabiting it. The practice was handed down verbally, never really being documented to protect its integrity. Feng shui is the relationship between us and our space. So if you have 60” TV at the foot of your bed, or stacks of papers throughout your home, you might want to call a Feng Shui consultant. Turn your bathroom into a serene feng shui spa. Orient your bed in the perfect direction for sleep and make certain your bedroom is warm and inviting for love. (If you have a print of The Scream hanging in there – remove it immediately.) All this and more is guided by the enduring principles of feng shui. Our space reveals what is happening within our lives. One of the basic principles of feng shui is the principle of five elements -- Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. These elements interact between themselves in certain ways, generally defined as the Productive and Destructive cycles. Each element is represented by a color, and color is the easiest way to use the 5 elements principle to bring harmony into your home.
