Since 1990, Kevin John Allen has written over 200 songs, recorded Dark Songs Written On Black Guitars and is about to release a new CD – Life's Lonely Rodeo. Several of Kevin’s songs have been recorded by other artists, and some have been placed in movies and international advertisements. North Thru South (fromLife's Lonely Rodeo) is in a small independent film which was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. These days this self described “old weathered songwriter working in the veins of Americana, country, reggae and American music” can be found playing along the Jersey Shore, NYC, PA and Nashville. In the last two years he has played at The Stone Pony, The Saint, The Cambridge Inn, Espresso Joe's, The Wonder Bar, The Twisted Tree, 4S Songwriter's Series, and Studio 303 in Nashville.
Kevin and his band The Lonely Teardrops were featured performers at the Millennium Music Conference in Harrisburg, PA and have upcoming appearances in NYC, CT, and Philadelphia and will also be performing at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards in Asbury Park on April 29th as well as in two upcoming TV appearances in April. Kevin was chosen as the opening performer in Union Square Park on 4/15/11, performing his songs 99 Weeks and Dreamland for thousands at the rally that would ultimately become the Occupy Wall Street movement.
