So your New Year’s resolutions failed again? Most people start off with great intentions on January 1 to lose weight, stop smoking, exercise more, or any number of other well-intended ideas. Sometimes we’re over zealous, and sometimes we’re simply not realistic. But most of the time our resolutions fail because we have no clear vision for what we want and no action plan to see us through the process. Now it’s time to get serious! I know what you’re thinking – it’s easy, right? If it was easy, everyone would do it and we know that’s not the case. Life Coach Jenn Nocera, of Formula for Excellence, is going to share the benefit of setting SMART Goals. In this case, SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-based. First you’ll have to determine what your goals are. Then you’ll need to decide how badly you want to achieve them and what you’re willing to do to accomplish them. Once you determine these parameters, you’ve got an action plan for yourself that will set you on the path to achieving your goal. SMART Goals is a system that has been used by many for personal improvement as well as career development.
