The name of her business says it all – Confections of a Rock$tar. Kimmee Masi had a vision to take her two passions, music and baking, and combine them. Soon she’ll be in her new location on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park for everyone to see that she is definitely a rock star baker who delivers the complete rock star experience.

Kimmee started playing drums at the age of four and decided early on that being behind a drum-set was ultimately where she wanted to be. She has played in several original bands throughout NJ, and is currently the drummer for the rock band Our Last Sin. In 2010, Kimmee left her corporate job to pursue her music and manage her band further.

And let’s get back to the baking. Having grown up in her Dad’s bakery Vincent’s Cookie Cupboard, Kimmee learned the traditional ways of decorating cakes, making breads, rolls and pastries from scratch. It was a dream that  Kimmee and her Dad would be able to open a place together. Kimmee’s Dad passed in 2006 but his talent lives on with Kimmee in Confections of a Rock$tar.

The name of the bakery let’s you know immediately this is no ordinary establishment. Check out the names of the cupcakes Kimmee offers – Starving Artist, Jam Session, Bang Away, Road Trip, The Grammy, After Party, Rock n Roll, Red Carpet – and you know you’re in for something unique. Oh yeah, did I mention they’re delicious? Everyone wants to be a rock star, so here’s an opportunity to have the experience in Asbury Park. Where else, right? The music. The baking. It all comes together for Kimmee, and she’ll share her journey with us.

After the interview, please check out After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for contact info.
