Joe Basile is a Jersey guy who went Hollywood and had an interesting journey along the way. Joe's love affair with film began in 1976 when he was captivated by the movie Rocky. After graduating University of Delaware, Joe relocated to Hollywood and received his MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA's prestigious film school. Joe has been cast in over 25 television shows (Criminal Minds, Desperate Housewives, ER, Wi, 6 Feet Under, Seinfeld, and CSI to name a few) and 15 movies (8 Heads In a Duffle Bag, Gia, Paparazzi, and That Thing You Do).

Joe’s worked in front of the camera, behind the camera, and has even been set on fire (more on this during the interview). He's worked with Warren Beatty, Katherine Hepburn, and Mike Nichols among others.

Working behind and in front of the camera was a valuable lesson in movie making for Joe. Now he’s back in NJ to make his movie about the Jersey Shore -- that movie is West End. Joe wrote the script and will direct this crime drama that shares some familiar elements with another classic crime drama – Hamlet. Yeah, Hamlet. Check your Cliff Notes. Murder, family drama, strained relationship with your mother, former girlfriend, family obligations, the fine line between right and wrong, and assorted characters that are both strange and familiar. This movie about the Jersey shore will be shot entirely on location at the Jersey shore.

Check out the West End teaser which won its category at the 2011 Garden State Film Festival. Joe will share some of his experiences with us and talk about his upcoming film. After the show, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more information.
