    Wasn't Shannon a great guest?!? If you missed this week's show take time to listen to Shannon Milder, a site manager with FFSC San Diego and prior active duty. She brought great information on creating care package - and perspective...wasn't it was great to hear about care packages from the viewpoint of the recipient? I can't say that I'm now the bomb at care packages but I certainly feel like I have a new perspective.

    Hey - what did you think about the 'theme' care packages...so creative! You women sure set the bar high for us lamers! What have you sent in care packages? Do you have one that was just the best hit or a bomb? (I do, chocolate does not travel well during summer months...use your imagination).

    So, here is the info from the show for your easy reference:

    Freebie/Opportunities:

    Trees for Troops - free Christmas Trees and/or Wreaths for military families. Logon to www.treesfortroops.org for information on distribution sites near you. The trees will be distributed the weekend of December 6-7, 2008.

    Free Banners/Jumbo Cards - I love BuildASign.com. This is not the first time they've generously offered free banners to military families. They are giving away 20,000 banners/jumbo cards during the month of November. Each one is customizable for your Sailor. www.buildasign.com

    Care Packages - Mailing Dates:

    Remote locations mail by December 1, 2008

    Other OCONUS locations mail by December 15, 2008.
