New Yawk HR tackles a very topical subject - diversity and inclusion. Why hasn't the needle moved? We continue to struggle with gender and race diversity in companies of all sizes even with an increase in staffing, budget and focus around D & I. Is it because we are avoiding the root cause of systemic issues around people that are different? We are joined by LaToya Lyn to call BS and discuss ways to REALLY make an impact on diversity and inclusion.
LaToya has cultivated a deep passion for people, especially people in the workplace. Holding a dual masters in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior - her professional experience spans from executive leadership coaching and alignment to drive key business results to work in a cognitive neuroscience laboratory contributing to the world of research about human behavior.
LaToya has also worked across many industries, including digital media, fashion, consulting and now technology. This passion for HR was cultivated when she was fired from her first job at the tender age of 16 years old when LaToya's then-manager told her “We need our people in their place to make sure everything goes right”. It was that moment on LaToya sparked an interested in understanding the dynamics and behaviors between people in the workplace.
