Preparedness & Gardening: Take Care of Yourself & Grow Your Own Food
Join Alex Primo and Asha Zuri Thursday, July 28,2016 at 9 pm EST (8 CST, 7 MST, 6 PST) as we explore prepping, survivalism, preparedness, and gardening from the Melanated perspective.
Brothers and sisters, we must go beyond getting an education, making good money, and eating organic. We have to learn how to survive and feed ourselves in a world that has fallen apart. A world where we can't run to the grocery store or depend on police for safety. We need to learn how to live off of the land and defend our loved ones from all manner of danger.
Self-reliance must be our national and global mantra if we are to endure. Self-sufficiency or extermination, those are our options. Sounds crazy ... then watch the news and see the future unfolding before your eyes. Doing for self is one of the smartest moves we can make. So, tune in and let's spark some brain cells.

  • Westchester On the Level with Narog and Aris

    in News

Paul Martin, Director of Preventive Services Leake & Watts opens the"featured" Westchester On the Level broadcast day as our guest this Friday, July 29, 2016, at 10am DST with host Hezi Aris. Our "talk" will center over Leake & Watts’ Preventive Services Program. We learn of this year's effort, the second of its kind, and the efficacy of helping families cope with the opening days of the school year. We learn that helping parents cope with the costs of preparing their children for school builds a sustainable and cohesive family structure. It also becomes a springboard for emphasizing the value of education for parents and children alike. We learn of the changing stress factors that differ from previous generations and learn what has changed. Consider visiting leakeandwatts.org to donate backpacks, school supplies, money, and time.
Hezi Aris will thereafter engage in hyper-local, national and international news and analysis from 10:30am onward.

Today show is on Black Lives Matter is a unique contribution that goes beyond extrajudicial killings of Black people by police and vigilantes. It goes beyond the narrow nationalism that can be prevalent within some Black communities, which merely call on Black people to love Black live Black and buy Black.
With the current events that are playing out in the news police murdering us at records number maybe not. We just have video’s social media.  So the real question becomes was brother Micah Xavier Johnson a martyr, a hero. or a man just fed up. Sick and tried of being sick and tired? This was one of the answers I received.
Micah Johnson is a combination of both. What we African Americans (blacks), other minorities, and others who have been victims of harassment, and or murder at the hands of whites, mostly police officers, need is someone in power to step up and say enough already. Micah Johnson risked his own life to make the statement, the killings at the hand of police officers has to stop. The fact he killed 5 white police officers, shed more of the ugly truth. I believe DISCONNECT is as bad as racism. The disconnect being comments were made that the officers had families. What about all the innocent victims of police killings? They had families too. If you disregard skin color, uniform, etc, what you have is a human being. You would have to be racist, disconnected, twisted and devoid of any compassion to not feel anything for the innocent victims, such as Alton Sterling who was shot 6 times, after being tased & lying on the ground.

  • Men Should Have Realistic Standards and Specifications for Dating Women

    in Current Events

During the course of your dating life you will most likely find yourself on a date with someone whose actions speak much louder than their words. Maybe they’re attentive and chivalrous to you, but treat the waiter, bartender, and/or valet poorly. Or maybe they claim they’re ready for a long-term relationship, but their wandering eye tells you otherwise. To get the most out of your dating life, it’s important to understand that actions speak louder than words. When someone’s actions are contrary to their words, this is not only a red flag, it’s gut-check time. By paying attention and screening out potential partners whose actions don’t match their words, you cut down on wasted dating time and make it that much easier to attract potential partners worth your time and energy. Secondly, like those internal alarms that alert you to your gut feelings, you also have an alarm system to alert you to red flags. Often times this alarm system is turned way down. As a result, we often ignore red flags and find ourselves getting involved with inappropriate partners because we’re not paying attention. To become a truly successful single in the new millennium, you owe it to yourself to become a red flag specialist. That means paying attention to red flags as they are presented to you on dates. An example of a red flag would be if you found yourself on a date with someone who could not stop talking about their ex. They may be a fantastic person, and eventually make a great partner, but right now they’re not ready. Your job is to pay attention to that red flag and not pursue them. If you want to get in on the conversation, the call in number is 215-383-5785. My name is Leon Jones, the host of the 411 talk zone radio show every Saturday from 12 noon- 2 pm.

About News

News, weather, traffic, sports. If it's happening, it's being talked about on BlogTalkRadio. Nothing has the power to move us, motivate us or shake us to our core like what's happening in the world, in the nation and in our neighborhoods. We rely on news for big-picture wants and immediate needs: We plan commutes by traffic reports, our outfits by the weather and our vacations by how the stock market performs. Whether current events happen close to home or across the globe, bookmark this category for in-depth discussions about breaking news and current trends by analysts, authors and educators alike. And if you're fascinated by weather, engage with fellow enthusiasts in conversation about climate change, superstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes and more. And it's fun to note that sports – often paired with news, but here a category entirely its own – have rescued many people's social lives, built solely around team schedules.
