LORETA - Making Russian history at just 7 years old wasn’t even the beginning for Lithuanian born Loreta who at the age of 4 had already won the hearts of the Soviet Nation after emerging the peoples’ favorite of a nationally televised talent contest. From 2500 applicants, she made it to the final 50 and performed for a TV audience that reached well into the millions. Requests flooded in for the young starlet and she was soon travelling throughout Europe, performing all over the continent. Born in Lithuania’s capital city of Vilnius to a family of well-known and highly respected musicians, Loreta’s early years were spent travelling the world with her parents who represented their communist country, even performing for members of the Kennedy family. Being born into the musical household meant that Loreta was exposed to the music of some of the world’s greatest artists: Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Janis Joplin and Whitney Houston as well as the joy of the stage. It was almost impossible that music would not be in her blood and by the age of 2, Loreta already knew that she wanted to follow in her parent’s footsteps. On more than one occasion the toddler managed to elude babysitters to run on stage and pull at the microphone chord in front of a packed audience. At 5 she received the first of many invitations to sing for the Lithuanian President and began to classically train on the piano. Performing in cities throughout Germany, Spain, Russia and Poland she also landed her first performances on Russian and German TV. www.myspace.com/loretaofficial
