We interview Jonathan Eustache, a Haitian-American, who will be running his first full-length, 26.2 mile marathon, at the ING NYC Marathon on November 4. He is born of Haitian parents, from the towns of Lazille and Cavallion, who migrated to New York in the 1960's. He first began running in 2008 when, then 250 lbs., he was seeking relief from the pain of herniated discs and his doctor told him he had two options: lose weight or have surgery. He started running, changed his diet and lost 36 pounds. Now Jonathan's dedication to run has taken on an additional meaning as he now runs to raise awareness and funds for Haïti through his volunteering to run the ING NYC Marathon on behalf of Community2Community. He will be joined by Olivia Robinson, Community2Community Project Coordinator and Assistant to Founder "FireStarter" + CEO.
