Dr. Kelly King has been a teacher, teacher specialist, assistant principal, and principal for 19 years in the Glendale Unified School District. After growing up in Palm Springs, California she attended Occidental College where she earned an Advanced Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Psychology. She later earned a Master’s degree at University of La Verne and a doctoral degree at the Universities of California – Los Angeles and Irvine (UCLA/UCI). Dr. King has taught at the elementary level and as a visiting professor at Loyola Marymount University. She has also been a consultant for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, National Evaluations Systems, Department of Agriculture, and Disney Educational Productions. Currently Dr. King is an elementary school principal at a school that successfully exited from Program Improvement status. It is her passion and purpose to work with the parents and students who may otherwise “fall through the cracks” if they do not receive extra attention. She has a strong belief that every child, no matter what, can be successful if they identify their strengths and dreams and never give up in pursuit of thier goals.
