Carolyn Champion became a victim of that crime when her 21 year old son Cortez was gunned down in November of last year.  She has since turned her grief into activism by helping  women who are ex-offenders.  The arrest rate of  WOMEN  in Chicago is now up by 92 percent since 1990.  Carolyn Champion founded an organization called S.A.V.E.D, Sisters Achieving Victory, Empowerment and Dominion.  She's giving former female prisoners a second chance at living a normal life.  And she's making significant headway.
