More than 2 million people are incarcerated in U.S. prisons as well as local and county jails. 1 in 3 black men in the United States will go to prison or jail if current trends continue. An average of 5 million people are under state or federal supervision in the form of probation or parole. Discrimination in school discipline contributes to disparities in incarceration rates, with African Americans comprising only 12% of the US population but 44% of its incarcerated. The U.N. Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination has expressed concern about the “school-to-prison pipeline” and called on the United States to intensify its efforts to address racial disparities in the application of disciplinary measures. On tonight’s show we will discuss why are African Americans are being targeted for mass incarnation and why it is important to understand the corporate prison system that is a revolving door which is creating a endless cycle of regression in our society. Do not miss out.
