The Naylor Show

My show is a basic type of Conservative talk radio. I use a lot of influences like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Mark Levin. Hopefully this show will educate listeners about my personal beliefs from a Conservative point of view.

Reflection on Episode 2-"Nationalized Health Care"

    Hello Everyone!

The June 24 episode of "The Naylor Show" was a much bigger success than the first episode. The topic of Nationalized Health Care was discussed by me, then a caller gave his pro-nationalized health care view.

The caller was very respectable, and he provided a solid case for the utilization of national health care for the United States. I tried to retort to the best of my ability, and I feel that the debate could have continued for a while. Unfortunately, the show time was running out, and that annoying British lady (the one that says: "BlogTalkRadio...") told me time was short.

What I could not get to however was the alternative solution to the health care problem in the United States; the ones Conservatives like better. I was so caught up in the moment of having my first caller (although he was pro-socialist health care), that I completely forgot to mention the alternative. So here's the problem and solution, as well as the Obama Plan that will not work:

OBAMA PLAN (in a nutshell): To give every American citizen free health care sponsored by the government. He wants every American to be "insured" and that, in turn, will cause better health in the United States.

THE PROBLEMS: Obama's plan is one that is very risky. First of all, how is the health care plan going to be paid for? You cannot just make money appear out of nowhere, and one of the only options is borrowing from other countries (like we already do). Also, a tax increase is imminent to many Americans. Even if the tax only goes to highly paid Americans, why should they pay for the coverage for other people? Why should they use their hard-earned money for some irresponsible people (like smokers, obese people, druggies, etc) to help pay for their coverage? We live in a free country where the government should not force its citizens to use a health care program that they don't want. Some Americans like their existing coverage and they don't want to lose it and be mandated by the government to switch doctors or hospitals. It's all about why? when it comes to the Obama plan. He explains the reasoning for how we're going to do and the benefits, but he never explains the flaws (which are fatal) or even explains why. There are other options to take when reforming health care, and Obama's socialist plan doesn't cut it.

CONSERVATIVE SOLUTION: Instead of allowing Washington, DC to dictate your health (do you trust those people), give people more flexibility when it comes to deciding what health they need. Allow tax treatment to be fair to all citizens (citizens, not illegals). Stop the wasteful spending used to pay for the health care, and restructure the regular spending. Don't try and convince Americans that the government will allow you to keep your own plan and blah, blah, blah. It's a ploy to get you to drink Obama's Kool-Aid. If this solution is utilized, the following effects will occur (thanks to the Heritage Foundation for this info):

    Personal ownership will be enhanced.

Americans will be given more choices in health.

Health plans and providers will be forced to compete for the money of the citizens, which will lower costs and improve quality.

Maybe I should've had an hour long special? But anyways, I will revisit this topic in the future. Hopefully that hour-long show will be on the agenda, but until then, that is my stance on Nationalized Health Care. Tune in to Episode 3-"Life" on July 3rd.

    Goodbye everyone, I am out.
