RAFFA does not aggressively practice philanthropy because it is a $40 million firm. In fact, exactly the opposite is true. Tom believes that RAFFA has become a $40 million firm because it has always practiced philanthropy. Tom Raffa also believes that philanthropy is contagious, and he is determined to meet and partner with other “like minded” CEO’s that control their for-profit firms so as to cure the social issues of the day by bringing communities (nonprofits, for-profits, foundations and local governments) together while inspiring even more private companies toward social responsibility. To help champion a culture of corporate giving and address pressing issues in our region, RAFFA and a cohort of community minded CEOs are taking on a new role as ambassadors for Corporate Social Responsibility. They are concerned about growing needs and shrinking resources, as well as the lack of cross sector collaboration and strategic approach to solving pressing problems in our community. They have launched COMPANIES FOR CAUSES to help stir and expand the philanthropic pot and they are proposing a new solution to help stimulate, harness, and leverage the business sectors’ collective passion, talents, and resources for the benefit of the region!
