Join host Christine Agro and guest Jan Johnsen, author of Heaven is a Garden (available at Amazon.com) as they explore how Nature uses color for survival and how we can use color in our gardens to benefit our own well being. We'll also be talking about ways to extend color into the Fall.

Jan Johnsen has written a beautiful book that inspires us to see our gardens as places of community, places of healing and places of wonder. In her book 'Heave is a Garden' she draws on her own 40 year carreer as a Landscape Architect as well as a deep well of historical and esoteric information to explain why shapes and colors and flow create energy and dynamics within our garden spaces.

She joins Christine to talk about her book and delve into a conversation about the use of color.

Did you know that it is believed that some flowers have evolved to be beautiful to the human eye. Because of their beauty, their survival rate is increased as they will be cared for, cultivated and assisted in their reproduction. This co-evolution of humans and plants is described in The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan
