Our world is hugely dependent upon oil and fossil fuels for energy and other purposes. We drill for oil and continually look for new reservoirs of it. We’ve also seen the rise of a new procedure for capturing natural gas – fracking. Could there be a potential downside – a geological one – of drilling and fracking that we may be largely unaware of? What is it and what could the potential hazard be? Diane Brandon is joined this week by Janet Starr Hull, Ph.D., an OSHA Certified Environmental Hazardous Waste Emergency Response Specialist and Toxicologist and author of Sweet Poison. Dr. Hull has a background in Geology, as well as Environmental Science and Nutrition, and has been researching this issue. She’ll share with us what the effects of drilling and fracking are and how they may be impacting the earth geologically.
