The story of good and evil is woven throughout nearly every subject of human interaction: philosophy, religion, psychology, history, politics, government, war, NEWS, and even our entertainment media.

In metaphysical terms, as depicted in the Adam and Eve story, the knowledge of good and evil, the awareness of two apparently opposing directions in consciousness, presents the obligation of making choices as the expression of will.

Human consciousness leaves the blissful innocence of undifferentiated harmonious unity to explore identity and the creative possibilities of acting out thoughts of separation, duality and multiplicity. Pursuing this path ultimately leads to experiences of isolation, lack, anxiety, trauma, depression, selfishness and harm.

Often certain ideas are enforced by authorities who have expressed their selfishness to the level of leadership or ruling over others. These concepts are sometimes based in falsehood that serves those in power.

Today, with global communications, we have the most comprehensive expression of both good and evil in known history. We are at a time of great challenge regarding the quality of life and the level of awareness of people on this planet.

From time to time individuals appear who have an innate capacity to think beyond the limits of cultural constructs and taboos. These philosophers and artists are critical of the falsehoods and failures they perceive in the accepted ways of thinking and doing.

For those inclined toward holistic healing and improvement of self and world, employing awareness in choosing what makes life better is the way of greater wisdom.
