Dental problems are very common, worsened by the harm of excessive sugar, acidic beverages and other junk food. Unfortunately, fillings and root canals create additional problems without improving the health of the teeth.

Deficiency of minerals in the soils and our diet is a key reason for dental problems. Mineral nutrients with good absorption must be provided to the body. Ionic minerals are small charged particles the cells can use, found in organic foods and special supplements. North Atlantic kelp is an excellent source of trace minerals, including iodine that is essential for the thyroid and the immune system.

Calcium is the most prevalent mineral in the body and is often quite deficient. Most calcium supplements are poorly absorbed. At ReallyWell.com we have well-absorbed calcium, as well as ionic magnesium and trace minerals. Antioxidants are also important for the microcirculation that keeps the gums healthy.

Other items that are important for dental health, the gums and jaws include: Vitamin D, coconut oil, xylitol, and help for the immune system, such as clove oil, oregano oil, myrrh, silver, hydrogen peroxide and probiotics. Oil pulling with coconut oil, and maintaining an oral pH around neutral (7) are wise practices. Low abrasion toothpaste or powder, a soft toothbrush and a healthy alternative mouthwash are helpful tools.
