Trevor Bauer outdueled Max Scherzer, who flirted with a no-hitter again tonight, and the Cleveland Indians beat the Washington Nationals, 3-1 in the nation’s capital. It was a tough way for things to go for Scherzer, who struck out 10 and passed 200 strikeouts on the season for the fifth straight season. Bauer was solid, however, after struggling in his last five starts before tonight and the Indians took the series opener like they did last week in Ohio. Nats now 66-46
