Matt played for the Jets between 1977-1979, After leading the surprising Jets to a 8-8 finish in 1978 he was the fans favorite at QB. During the summer of 1979 Matt completed and won the starting QB position over Richard Todd so he has a first hand knowledge of what both Sanchez and Smith are experiencing.
