Wall Street doesn't like tax hikes or uncertainty.  Last year, the Dow dropped 16% when Congress waited until the last minute to raise the debt ceiling.  In 1987, tax hikes caused a sell-off that sparked Black Monday -- when the Dow dropped 22% in one day.  And who will ever forget the drop to 6547 in March of 2009, after the Lehman Bros. bankruptcy.  

So, how bad will it be this time?  Are you protected, just in case Congress doesn't strike a deal?
