While many drug rehab statistics are nebulous, Narconon boasts a 76% success rate, based on a two year follow-up. A key to our success is the Narconon New Life Detoxification program. Through the use of a sauna, we provide body detoxification that can help eliminate or reduce cravings. Research has shown that, detoxification from drugs or alcohol should be followed by effective treatment to achieve long-term success. We provide that effective treatment. Our non-12 step approach provides life skills necessary to maintain sobriety and lead a successful life. These life skills will help the addict identify and resolve problems through learned techniques, rather than turn to drugs as they have in the past. For more information on how the Narconon program can help you or a loved one, go to www.drugsno.com or www.alternativesentence.com or call 877-413-3073.

The kids and grandkids raised by Dr. Spock need this book. There have been few books that have become mainstays in terms of raising kids since Dr. Spock. While certainly no one would advocate raising our children in environments which foster drug addiction, which is exactly what has happened in our country in the last few generations. Heroin, marijuana, Vicodin, Oxycontin and cocaine – one would be hard pressed to find a teenager that has not been exposed to at least one of these drugs.
A book about raising drug free kids, pushed into the spotlight can change all of that. Look what Betty Crocker, Dr. Spock and Martha Stewart did.
Sometimes you just have to tell people how to do things – including how to be a good parent.

“The Wyoming Department of Health has purchased a copy of a new book about raising drug-free kids for every public library in the state, according to an official press release.
The book, "How to Raise a Drug-Free Kid: The Straight Dope for Parents" was authored by Joseph A. Califano Jr., founder and chairman of The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. Califano is a former member of President Jimmy Carter’s cabinet, serving as Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare.
State officials said the book aims to help parents counteract the many unhealthy messages about alcohol, tobacco and other drugs that surround their children.”
