    Facebook and babyboomers

I have taken the big leap into social networking.  I joined FACEBOOK.  Many think this is a site just for "young" people...and I was happily surprised to see how many of my ol'fogey friends were already members and use facebook quite often to stay in touch, post photos and events.
My big leap was precipitated by my mastering of the skill known as "uploading photos".  It's not any fun to join these sites if you can't even let people know how "hot " you are! ANd "mature"women can be "hot"  ...not just "flashes of hot" but  HOT - OK, I'm not "hot"  but I do want my fiends to see me when they click on my site... That I am a happy person with a big smile and "not so frumpy hair"  . It all sounds so superficial.  We have become such a visual people - so how can I visually attract you to listen to our show each week ?  I really enjoy the new technology and can see how easy it is to become addicted to it.... HOw about replacing the word "addicted" to "committed"   I am going to be committed to following through, to being creative, to putting into action the goals necessary to reach the desired end result, to being me... not just addicted to activities counterproductive to what I really want in life!

Join me on Face Book, llinkedin and self growth  and listen to our show tonight

    curve balls and shut outs

Tag words confuse me sometimes, because I am not sure what I am really tagging - tag , you're it ?

Life stands still when a catastrophic event shakes your world.  The ultimate curve ball that you never see coming.  A person dies but you still have to buy the plane tickets, change your work assignment so you can leave, get money out of the bank, arrange for a ride to the airport, sit next to a triple heavy ( code for fat ) guy who is a mouth breather.   You forget the Dramamine and now you can't stop thinking about how many times will you throw up before the wheels touch down... who do I have to be nice to at the funeral, why did this have to happen NOW... damn, my Mom is going to be so sad and hurt and how do we help each other - really , how ?

Suicide is a complicated, confusing and excruciatingly painful event that no one has answers for.   I am so sorry....  It really does make a difference in how you accept the reality of such an event to focus on serving someone else and not your own sorrow or inconvenience.  It's true some people really do see the occasion of someone's death death as an inconvenience to them - pretty shallow !  I think that is a reaction of a fear based belief held deeply inside.  But really now, what are we afraid of ?  WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF ?  Is this about the suicide of a relative? or is it really about what a failure your life is and now its a WAKE UP call for you.  Maybe this is all a bit rambling - but suicide hit our family today and amidst the sincerity of sorrows expressed I still found myself going about my "routine" and regular duties.  I also found myself reading an old book I had on 'fears"  .  This relatives fears were so great, he took his life !   I'm so sorry and tomorrow I am really going focus on not  screaming at Geoff and his terrible hygiene habits... I will tell him what a good person I think he is and I am glad to know him.... and mean it.

    More evidence of counterfeit leadership:

Burned Investors Call for Government Bailout

Bad Policies Led to the Crisis – More Will Make Things Worse

With the recent collapse of IndyMac bank in California and billions in losses at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac piling on top of the existing subprime mortgage meltdown, financial managers are understandably jittery. The more opportunistic of them are now jockeying for more government money, subsidies and loan guarantees to prop up their failing investment decisions. Many of these “solutions,” however, and exactly want helped precipitate this crisis in the first place.

The policy experts of the Competitive Enterprise Institute have been tracking the credit crunch as it has spread to mortgage lenders, hedge funds, investment banks and government sponsored financial enterprises. They’ve also been weighing in on the proposed solutions, most of which have called for more rules and government power rather than elimination of the perverse incentives which helped cause the problems in the first place.

We need to phase out government support for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

I used to be in the mortgage business and this just makes blood shoot out of my eyes.  It is one of the reasons I "bailed" out... I tired quickly of the lies and lack of ethics. to make a "quick" buck..an easy game to join in and play.  But there are no winners in that game.. This counterfeit of success is what is destroying this country.  But , individually, we must no bitch and blame!  Accountability starts with you... If you are fat - stop complaining and get that damn bike of the hook in the garage and start riding it !  Even if it is just 100 yards down to the corner, take a deep breathe, rest under the shade  tree and ride back.  That is success !  Don't let me catch you at "Chuck a Rama " with a plate piled high with food, if you are bitching and blaming  others about why you are so fat... If you got a bad mortgage , suck it up you must accept responsibility for signing on the dotted line, cut the fat and live within your means.....!  stop living the counterfeit life and rejoice in the divine and real you.

I know this sounded a little bit like a tantrum...  but the blood has been shooting out my eyes on a regular basis this week because I too can't stop bitching and blaming others for messing with my world.  Everyday is a lesson.   listen to our show on Sunday night

    Missed our show!

New babies change everyone's schedules, even from 40 miles away.  I ran out to where my new grandbaby resides thinking I could be back in time for our show at 10:00 because I am so "gagaga" over how fantastic she is, selfishly wanting to oooo and coo over her.  I underestimated the drive time, I underestimated the traffic even on a Sunday night, the train that stops out in the middle of no-where bringing life to a halt as it creeps slowly down the tracks... the cell phone battery dies and I am stuck.  I did get home to late to call in and so I plopped on the couch with the remote to see what was on and I saw the end of the Miss Universe pageant... Lovely girls who were just selling their sex poses, they were not articulate, they were not natural beauties ( oh a couple of them were ), they posed like they were in line for the "playboy" photographer to snap them.  I hope Mr. Trump is proud of his show for the sleaze sell that it was., I was disgusted -  Girls out there, get in touch with your authentic you... be at peace with the divine nature God gave you... as beautiful as my Summer Anne who in her newborn perfection takes my breathe away.... Don't let implants, teeth veneers,  eyeshadow and your views on "world peace"  define who you are !!!!  just my thoughts for the day.  Miss Venezuela did have a great yellow formal gown on .... and that will go a long way to establish  " world peace and help women feel satisfied "  Oh, and please listen to our show this coming Sunday... I promise we will be there!

    Perfection and newborns

The beautiful and most perfect, Summer Anne entered this world 24 hours ago with a mop top of dark brown peach fuzzy hair and translucent olive skin. Gosh I just love holding a newborn in my arms  to coo at and admire. The touch of newborn skin is a treasured moment.  Nothing on this earth is as pure and perfect as newborn skin to the touch.  It reminds me of the daily opportunity to be "perfect to the touch " again as we apologize _ "I;m sorry", recognize the glory in the day - "I'm grateful for all things, yes, all things" ... The past doesn't matter to me any more - " I forgive" and as Summer Anne will so peacefully and unconditionally give to her Mother - I love... Love.  John Lennon said it best " All you need is Love" .  Maybe if we stopped being so "conditional" ourselves, peace and contentment would come back to our hearts and we would once again become "soft to the touch".  Adopting this attitude of "Zero "  meaning a state of love - is incredibly difficult to adopt and master as every day can throw us such huge curve balls that we over react, under react, revolt and bleed - we forget the deep breath and the peace of just closing your eyes for a moment , reflecting on  who you really are and why are you giving away your power - your divine nature for someone else or a bad memory to trample and abuse, taking you hostage.  Take your life back and be "reborn"  ... Welcome Summer Anne, Grandma  Mimi loves you
