Born in Tallahassee, Florida, Saundra Kelley combines writing with the ancient tradition of spoken word storyteller. A graduate of Tallahassee Commuity College and Florida State University, Saundra raised her family and then left to pursue her dreams.
As a result, she now travels as a professional storyteller, and is the author of two books: Danger in Blackwater Swamp, published by Southern Yellow Pine Publishing (SYPPublishing,) and Southern Appalachian Storytellers: Interviews with Sixteen Keepers of the Oral Tradition, McFarland Publishers.
In addition, the true story of the Worm Grunter’s Wisdom, was included in the environmental anthology, Between Two Rivers, a Red Hills Writers Project, in north Florida. Kelley wrote a community column for the Tallahassee Democrat, was features writer for the Jonesborough Herald & Tribune in Tennessee, and continues to write as the Tennessee Rambler for the Wakulla Area Times.
Scheduled for release by SYPPublishing in the early summer of 2014, is The Day the Mirror Cried, a collection of short stories and poetry.
