Nancy, I saw this video and was once again moved to tears about what happened to the native people here in this country. It is sad how our histories entertwine but how forces keep us apart and stop us from uniting to battle who we know is our natural enemy. I am sorry but this is just how I feel as I look at history and how that history has manifested into a present that is still destroying African and Native people. You are my Sister and no matter what I will never forget what happened to your people and I hope that you never forget what happened to mine even though they may high profile a few "successful" ones.     Over 900 Medals of Honor Rescinded in 1916,but......

    BUT NOT THE 20 GIVEN FOR THE SLAUGHTER OF 350 OR MORE NATIVE AMERICANS AT WOUNDED KNEE IN DECEMBER 1890.

    "In 1916, a board was created to determine eligibility for the award and to review the cases of those who had already received the award,

    "And in any case . . . in which said board shall find and report that said medal was issued for any cause other than that hereinbefore specified, the name of the recipient of the medal so issued shall be stricken permanently from the official Medal of Honor list. It shall be a misdemeanor for him to wear or publicly display such medal, and, if he shall be in the Army, he shall be required to return said medal to the War Department for cancellation. 

    All of the 2,625 medals awarded up to that time were considered by the board and ***nearly one-third (911) were canceled.*** Most of these canceled awards constituted those issued to the 27th Maine Volunteer Infantry. William Cody's and Mary Edwards Walker's awards were canceled as well.

    92 YEARS AND THIS GROSS MISCARRIAGE OF UNITED STATES MILITARY ACTION HAS STILL NOT BEEN CORRECTED. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITON BELOW TO HELP RIGHT A WRONG THAT STILL HANGS IN SHAME OVER THE UNITED STATES MILITARY AND OUR NATION AS A WHOLE. WE CAN NEVER BRING BACK THOSE THAT DIED IN SUCH A HORRIFIC MANNER,BUT WE CAN TAKE AWAY REWARDS GIVEN FOR SUCH SICK BEHAVIOR BY THE UNITED STATES MILITARY.
