She has two other children, Rick & Myra & is also a grandmother to Tatiana & Nancy. (They are old enough to remember Gina). Through the last five years, Nancy has gone through the absolute worst thing that could happen to a mother! Through, her tragedy, she has become not only an advocate for her child but for other missing children & adults in Cleveland. Her and Tara, made promise to Amanda Berry, mother, who was Cherokee before she passed away, that they would make a difference for missing children & keep Amanda's story out there with Gina's. The, two have worked together as a team in many ways in the last few years, getting the girls faces & cases there; A first EVER: The National Basketball Association NBA, David Stern approved that Amanda & Gina's faces appear during the 2007 NBA Finals in Cleveland on ABC/ESPN, where the broadcaster talked about that someone knows what happened to the girls. Appearing in 83 countries. And there were press releases & pictures of the teens given to the media in the after game press conference, when Lebron James, Cleveland Cavs star was interviewed. This was a first in the NBA, a first for missing children, a first for missing Puerto Rican & Native American missing teens. Tara & Nancy's sister Nancy Smith, wrote to Oprah for the last several years, many times... Then they both received calls from Oprah's producer, FINALLY in October, wanting to talk to Nancy. Two days, later, the film crew & producer, were in Cleveland to interview Nancy. She did a GREAT JOB! Tara was thanked by producer & really talked alot w/ the producer... An impression was made b/c Gina was on www.oprah.com for a week following the show...NO ONE ELSE!     Ted Vigil is a singer, songwriter, and a tribute artist. He was adopted out of Colorado and raised in the Seattle area. He has been performing since the age of ten. Throughout school Ted played in concert, symphonic, and jazz bands developing his talents as a drummer and singer. In 2006 he went on to Laughlin, NV to compete in the Talent Quest '06 competition involving 28 states, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada taking first place. He then went on to win Komo TV’ 4’s N.W. Afternoon Celebrity Look Alike Contest. In just a very short time Ted has developed into a national act. He performs all over the country at casinos, show rooms, night clubs, fraternal clubs, private parties, fairs and festivals. Some of the venues include the Broadmoor Hotel, Colorado Springs and the Four Seasons Resort, Dallas TX. The most heard comments after the show are, “I can’t believe how much he looks and sounds like John Denver, it really took us back!” Ted will be our "on air" guest to speak with him about John Denver( who is gone now) & why he pays Tribute to him and what people think about or say when they hear him and meet him in person.     Follow up to the South Dakota Outreach Efforts

    People of Rosebud & Pine Ridge Reservations are in need of emergency assistance following severe blizzard & weather conditions…even though the weather has warmed up, more severe storms are expected to come to the Region throughout the Winter. Children, elderly, disabled, and sick are in need of heat and winter necessities. On Nov. 5th, they were recently slammed by high winds, rain and snow storms. According to Robert E. Eagle Elk, CAP District Coordinator for Pine Ridge, SD "this was an early storm for us" and they were not prepared for the extent of this storm, which knocked out electricity, due to 100's of power poles going down in the storms. Eagle Elk said roads were impassable in some places. Some went without power for a couple of weeks and are still in great need of even some basic items. The Tulalip Boys & Girls Club-Tulalip Multi-Media Youth Club has formed a "Circle of Hope- A Circle of Giving" with the following: Tulalip Tribes; T.E.R.O; Tulalip Resort & Casino; Tulalip Lion's Club; and Building Partnerships for a Brighter Future. We want to share the inpooring of donations and provide info how you too can help! We will invite those from the last show to call in with updates & a few more who responded to the initial Call To Action.... Help is on the way!

    Blizzard relief Needed!Snow storms hit SD and impacts Native & non-Native Communities-You can help! All week I have been getting alerts about the storms that have hammered parts of South Dakota. Snow blizzards have been causing the brunt of the power outages and there are people who have especially been hit hard on some of the Reservations. Rescue efforts have begun, but others can't get out or do not want to leave their homes. We can help out by sending food, warm clothes, blankets, money to non-profits helping with the rescue efforts. Tune in Saturday at 10am-1130am(when I/my callers have free minutes) and we will focus our energy, love and prayers on South Dakota and the Rez's who need help at this time, due to the season of Winter starting for them now... Please tell your friends and family to listen, call in as well, if they have news from that area, first hand stories and or ideas and/or can offer ideas of their own. da ha dwubs, Robin
