Tonight's special guest is Shellilyn Marie from Honolulu, Hawaii, a returning NAASCA family member and survivor of child abuse. She shares, “For nearly 20 years I have been trying to write my experiences of the world as a biracial child raised from birth to 18 years, in an all-white foster home with over 170 children that were abused, beaten, tortured, molested, raped, trafficked, neglected and starved, through our home and foster care systems, and how this suffering has transformed my life to understanding love. With this love overcoming addiction and finding faith.” Shellilyn’s educational background includes nursing and healthcare management, which led to her becoming president of L.I.F.E.H.O.U.S.E. where they rescue abandoned children, providing education, housing and a home life in an energy-efficient, self-sustaining community. As the website explains, "With our passion, dedication and goals of improvement of not just our community, but also the world, we hope to inspire, educate, and provide love to all that we have the opportunity to help!" Shellilyn has finished and published a new book about the abuse her family endured when she was a foster child. She relates, “In April, 2020, 'Learning to Love' was published. The autobiographical novel is not only a personal story, but a tragic one shared in hopes that people might understand the power within us, and also inspire world change by exposing the corruption of the government involvement with the kidnapping and trafficking of children.”
