Tonight's special guest is Travis Vining from Orlando, Florida, an author, teacher, and inspirational speaker who lived the real-life horrors of learning his father was a serial killer. His father ultimately spent 24 years on Florida's death row while Travis suffered many physical and emotional illnesses including repressed memories, paralyzing migraine headaches and crippling back pain, addiction, and depression resulting from the unresolved past grievances and trauma from childhood. His two books detail these experiences of being raised by a sociopathic father who used him as a confidant and accomplice in committing four murders and how through finding faith and forgiveness Travis was able to overcome the trauma and found healing. His first book, 'Transforming Darkness To Light, for Giving: spiritual lessons from my life with a serial killer,' focuses on how developing a profound faith in God freed him from the grip of his horrific past. His most recent project 'The Miracle in The Madness: Grateful to be the Son of a Murderer,' concentrates on how he ultimately came to forgive his father and find healing by way of what Travis terms "The Process of Letting Go." In addition to his books, Travis offers inspirational talks, spiritual programs, and educational opportunities to help people still suffering from addictions, compulsive behaviors, depression, destructive relationships, and trauma. You also can follow Travis's work on LoveFraud.com, a website for how to recognize and recover from sociopaths.
