Tonight's guest is Chris Tuck from West Wickham, Kent, UK, a child abuse survivor, activist and author. She's committed to helping others and runs a number of web sites in her fight to help others avoid going through what she experienced, including 'SOB', SurvivorsOfAbuse.org.uk, which she founded in 2016, where the mission is to empower adult victims/survivors helping them transform their lives holistically through mindset, nutrition and fitness. "Up till the age of seven I believed I was treated with love and respect," Chris says, "enough for me to see me through the years of abuse from the ages of 7-15. I believe it gave me enough self esteem to bounce back each time because I knew that there was another way, life, was not meant to be like this." Chris reports that as a survivor of all forms of childhood abuse and neglect she knows how challenging it is to lead a normal everyday life. With a background in accountancy she re-trained as a health coach because of the problems she faced as a result of the abuse she'd suffered. "I have been a Health Coach since 2003 and have worked within the Priory Group delivering fitness programs to inpatients," she says. "I now raise awareness about the effects of child abuse on the victims/ survivors' mental, emotional & physical health and I am a regular speaker/presenter on TV & at national and regional conferences, & events." Chris' book, 'Through The Eyes of A Child' was written to help raise awareness of the impact of child abuse and to help fellow survivors understand what was happening to them by breaking the silence. This is Chris' first time on the talk show and we welcome her to the NAASCA family!
