Tonight's special guest is Charmaine (Loverin) Saucedo from Toronto, Ontario, a child abuse survivor, activist and educator. A returning NAASCA family member, Charmaine last appeared with us in May 2013, and is here to let us know what she's been up to since. Among other things, she wants us to know about her current iChoose prevention and intervention skills training for ages 5 - 14 and their in-home or online 2 hour parent workshops about empowering children. Charmaine's own story has been both published & heard around the world. "I experienced sexual, physical and emotional abuse from ages 5 - 15 and became an introvet," Charmaine says. She wouldn't let anyone in and was isolated and suicidal. She lacked self worth and her values were compromised through sexual deviance and choices. "I started on my healing journey first by finding women groups related to child sex abuse in my early 20's, she explains. "It was there when I witnessed a woman twice my age and a younger girl to whom I could relate." It altered her journey because she didn't want to be still terribly impacted 20 years later. "I then next found a psychotherapist who for 3 years helped me through the process of charging one of my offenders and receiving compensation for victims of criminal injury .. all in the early 20's." The words Charmaine lives by are from her child Pastor, "God will always hold your hand when you tell the truth." She proactively continues her self / professional development to enrich and enhance her purpose of empowering ALL human beings towards their own Power of Choice. See her YouTube video here.
