Tonight's special guests are Ruth Hull and Malinda Sherwyn. Ruth is a criminal attorney and activist. After winding up in a nightmare situation where she found a way to protect her kids by sacrificing herself, she discovered that the judges in the family courts don't even care what the law says. An attorney, a licensed private investigator and a journalist, Ruth took considerable time off work in connection with her own children. Malinda Sherwood and Ruth have been observing these cases and are very concerned about the trends taking place in family courts in California, Arizona and elsewhere. They've been shocked by the failure on the part of family court judges to follow the statutes that are on the books and by the extreme discriminations against victims of abuse that is so readily visible in those courts. During their joint appearance Ruth and Melinda will discuss the various abuse cases they've been observing, particularly the court-removal of and failure to protect the children of Ruby Dillon, Tammy Rief, Lisa Knight and Melissa Diegel. Following such cases made Ruth realize how lucky she was to have intuitively protected her kids from the system. She writes, "I started doing a lot of court watching. As the judges are threatening attorneys and mandated reporters with loss of their licenses for telling the truth, I mostly just volunteer my time as a court-watcher and try to assist other parents behind the scene. The violations of the law that happen every day in family court seem almost unbelievable." The ladies say "There's no doubt that there is a lot of corruption in the legal system." they conclude much of the answer lies in placing cameras in all family courtrooms and in calling for legislative oversight into judicial sex trafficking.
