SPECIAL TOPIC Night - OPEN MIKE SHOW - "For Our Kids" - Deborah Maddison and Tracy Baxter, Canadian activists from British Columbia, will join Bill Murray to lead this evening's discussion about the Rights of Children and Families in North America. This will be an open topic, Q & A discussion-style show, one without as clearly defined specific issues as our regular "For Our Kids" episodes. The "open mike" style show is looser than the planned ones we've been doing in this series, but we're hoping to attract call-in participants who wish to talk about their experience in dealing with "the system." Many of the institutions designed to serve and protect our children are in need of close scrutiny and examinations. Others are, in fact, denying the civil rights of our children. Some may need to be dismantled completely, replaced with organizations that actually have the needs of our kids, not themselves, at their core. There's been a lot of unnecessary suffering due to the fact that many such groups have commonly operated in an almost untouchable position in North America for decades, as if they were "above the law" .. and this has to stop. ~~ We're pleased "For Our Kids" co-host Deborah Maddison will be back for the next show. ~~ Every two weeks a new THEME will be presented in this series, with frequent special guests speaking from their own experience. ~~ Please see our web page at: www.NAASCA.org/ForOurKids or write to: naasca.forourkids@gmail.com
