Tonight's special guest is Kaitlyn Gant from Scottsdale, Arizona, and her husband, Anthonio, whose focus is to bring about awareness on the topic of suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Kaitlan's goal is to let those suffering and their loved ones know that. She writes, "There is help; there is hope." Kaitlyn's the author of "Will You Listen? A True Story of Living with PTSD" and is a motivational speaker. She also has experience in drug and alcohol consulting. For decades, Kaitlyn was able to keep her Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder symptoms in check. She mastered her denial, and focused on her career, putting it above all else which enabled her to avoid her past. As a child, Kaitlyn, suffered extreme trauma, horror, and abuse from as far back as she can remember until her teenage years. Since she also is diagnosed with Childhood Amnesia, it was easier to keep everything at bay for years, but the feelings, night terrors, and occasional flashbacks were always knocking. Later, when she found peace in her life, the past started to flood her mind, often claiming her will to live. This is when Kaitlyn's journey of reconciliation-with who she was, what happened, and who she is now-began. Her ultimate goal is to give others a resource during their own battle with depression, PTSD, drug and alcohol abuse, etc., whether they are suffering from it themselves or know someone who is. She hopes her work will show the importance of simply finding, and listening to God.
