Tonight's special guest is Kira Bursky from Asheville, North Carolina, a filmmaker and visionary artist whose unique perspective is already engaging audiences from around the world. Her new film, "Tree Hugger: A Dark Fantasy Short Film" is described as a dark fantasy short film that deals with the themes of sexual assault and abusive relationships. The main character, Clara, is a wide-eyed, innocent, freshman high school student with a magical outlook on life who becomes involved with a cute senior named Leo. Unbeknownst to Clara, a kind boy named Cody likes her and watches over her. Clara soon discovers that Leo only wants to take advantage of her .. and he does. Paralleling Clara's relationship with Leo is Clara's experience with a magical forest of trees. "Tree Hugger" follows Clara through a journey of discovery in which she finally recognizes the love that has always been directly in front of her.  She realizes that she does not have to settle for anything less and that she, just like anyone, deserves respect and love .. not abuse. All Around Artsy is Kira's film production company, which she founded in 2009.  The company has produced approximately thirty films. Kira is also a singer-songwriter who released her first album, “Confused Travels”, in December 2013 under her alias, Miss Whimsy. She has fully scored or provided songs on many of her most recent films.
