Tonight's special guest is Jori Nunes from Modesto, California, a sex abuse survivor and author of the new book "Chocolate Flowers: A Twisted Tale That Deserves to be Told" which was written for awareness to help understand and protect children. Jori says, "I have 2 counties in California now using the book as mandatory training for people who have to renew their credential's like CPS, foster care parents, social workers." She continues, "The Lisa project is a scientific exhibit in CA and they buy it in bulk at cost and keep the proceeds which is fine with me. I am just a small fish in big sea with a huge story that makes a ton of sense." As a survivor of sexual abuse by her birth parents as well as being a mother of a molested son, Jori has not only lived to tell her story but has spent twenty years researching this topic by interviewing pedophiles and victims of sexual crimes. She has gathered the information and memories together with the amazing ability to write one twisted tale for awareness and prevention of a silent crisis that effects about 20% of our children. Jori hopes that no other parent or caregiver will have to go through the devastating consequences of coping with the unimaginable emotional life sentence that sexual abuse causes to the victim as well as the parent or caregiver. "Chocolate Flowers" was written with love however. It is not an easy story to read as it is disturbing and can make readers become emotional just enough to change the way they think and feel about the topic of emotional and sexual child abuse. Jori hopes the book will help detect and prevent such abuse from ever happening to another child. This is a tale you will not want to put down, and will never forget.
